Public Disciplinary Actions

The IBF Board of Directors has the option of disciplining its members in one of three ways:

  1. letter of admonition
  2. temporary suspension of IBF certification marks
  3. permanent revocation of all IBF designations

The form of discipline depends upon the severity of complaint, the investigation and findings by the Board as well as the plaintiff's attitude, candor, position and responses.

The list below includes designees who have either violated the IBF Code of Ethics or IBF Standards of Practice within the past three years. Because the requirements for any IBF designation are so strict and membership is limited, it is expected that disciplinary listings at any given time will be short.

There have been no disciplinary actions taken in the last 3 years.
